Geleneksel müziğin UNESCO Koleksiyonu

İlk başta 1961 ve 2003’de basılan UNESCO Collection of Traditional Music (Geleneksel müziği UNESCO Koleksiyonu) tüm dünyadan gelen 100 albümden oluşuyor. 2005’den beri baskısı olmayan bu koleksiyon yakın gelecekte Smithsonian Folkways Recordings tarafından tekrar basılacak. Bu yeni basımla birlikte ilk orijinal koleksiyonda yer almayan pek çok yayınlanmamış eserlerde fiziksel ve dijital formatta dahil edilecek.

İlk başta UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization – Birleşmiş Milletler Eğitim, Bilim ve Kültür Teşkilatı) bu koleksiyonu etno-müzikolog Alain Daniélou (1907–1994) ve IMC (International Music Council – Uluslararası müzik konsülü) uzun yıllar sürdürdü. Daha sonra IMC’nin yerini ICTM (International Council for Traditional Music – Uluslararası Geleneksel Müzik Konsülü) devraldı. Bu proje UNESCO’nun Somut Olmayan Miras Listesi’nin ilk başarılı ve sürdürülebilir örneklerinden biridir.

Bu koleksiyon hepimizin ortak insanlığını paylaşan, yaklaşık yetmiş ulusun geleneksel müziklerinden oluşan bir proje. Smithsonian Enstitüsü’nün stüdyosunda toparlanan söz konusu koleksiyon ağırlıkta canlı olarak yerel ortamlarda kaydedilmiş bir üretim. Detaylı açıklamalar ve bilgilendirmelerden oluşan her albümün kitapçığı aynı zamanda bol fotoğraflarla süslenmiş durumda. Tükenmiş olan bu koleksiyonun tekrar basılacak olması her müzik sever için müjdeli bir haber zira içerdiği zengin müzik arşivi pek nadir rastlanabilecek bir eser. 29 Nisan 2014 tarihinden itibaren her hafta iki albümü yeniden müzikseverlerin beğenisine dijital formatta sunmayı amaçlayan Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, bir yıl boyunca bu kocaman koleksiyonu tamamlamayı hedefliyor. Özel talep üzerine her yeni üretim fiziksel olarak CD’ye de basılabilecek

Bu koleksiyonun yeniden hayata geçişinin ilk müjdesi geçtiğimiz günlerde yayınlanan
“Anthology of Indian Classical Music: A Tribute to Alain Daniélou” ile oldu. Söz konusu albümü şuradan dinleyebilirsiniz ve isterseniz kitapçığını buradan indirebilirsiniz.
